Dan has decades of experience crafting portfolios and is an expert on Vanguard mutual funds. He co-founded Adviser Investments in 1994 in response to numerous requests for his personal supervision over client accounts. Dan was co-editor of The Independent Adviser for Vanguard Investors and the comprehensive text on investing with Vanguard, the annual Independent Guide to the Vanguard Funds. His insights and analysis appear regularly in such publications as The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s and on CNBC, PBS and Bloomberg Television. Previously, Dan wrote about personal finance for U.S. News & World Report and Fortune magazine. He spent seven years on the board of the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA, currently serves on the investment committee of BRIC, an arts and music nonprofit, and is the manager of the pension fund for a local food cooperative. He earned a B.S. from Tufts University. Dan is an avid cyclist and skier, and he and his wife live in Brooklyn, NY.
