Trade Deficit Gap Widens to 10-Year High

Kate Austin, equity research analyst at Adviser Investments, has the market analysis for Wednesday, March 6. Major U.S. stock market indexes saw their third consecutive down day as investors reacted to disappointing economic data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500 and NASDAQ dropped 0.5%, 0.7% and 0.9%, respectively. The Census Bureau revealed that the goods and services deficit in trade widened $9.5 billion in December 2018 to almost $60 billion. Meanwhile, ADP reported a nearly 40% decline month-to-month decline in private-sector employment in February.
