Tesla Announces Cheaper Model 3 Electric Car

Major U.S. stock indexes posted mixed results, with the NASDAQ up 0.3%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average down fractionally and the S&P 500 declining 0.5%. Meanwhile, Tesla dropped 3% after announcing a $4,000 sticker-price reduction on its $45,000 Model 3 electric car. Daimler AG’s stock closed the day down nearly 2% after “significantly” reducing its 2018 earnings outlook for the Mercedes-Benz Cars and Daimler Buses divisions and for the Daimler Group.
