Major U.S. Market Indexes See Worst Week of 2019

Todd Peters, senior vice president at Adviser Investments, has the market analysis for Friday, March 8. Major U.S. market indexes had their worst week in 2019 after a fifth consecutive day of losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1% and the S&P 500 and NASDAQ each dropped 0.2% . The Labor Department reported disappointing job growth data, with February’s 20,000 new positions the smallest increase since February 2017. Investors also reacted to reports of a near three-year low in Chinese export activity and ongoing indicators of a European economic slowdown.
