Google, Intel and Qualcomm Cut Ties With Huawei

Adviser Investments Chief Investment Officer Jim Lowell has the market analysis for Monday, May 20. Major U.S. indexes dropped, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500 and NASDAQ Composite down 0.3%, 0.7% and 1.5%, respectively.  Asian markets saw mixed results and the pan-European Stoxx 600 fell 1.2% on investor concern related to U.S.-China trade negotiations. Meanwhile, Google, Intel and Qualcomm—among others—suspended agreements with Chinese electronics provider Huawei after the Commerce Department added Huawei to its list of companies suspected of violating suspected “national security and foreign policy interests.”
