Nike Declines 3% Despite 15% Profit Increase

David Mastroianni, strategic account executive at Adviser Investments, has the market analysis for Tuesday, September 25. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 declined 0.3% and 0.1%, respectively, while the NASDAQ gained 0.2%. Dunkin’ Brands’ rebranding campaign of its eponymous donut shop streamlined the Dunkin’ name and made headlines as the company expands its focus on a wider range of menu options. Meanwhile, despite reporting double-digit earnings growth and a 15% profit gain, Nike lost 3% partially as a result of weaker gross-margin figures.
