CPI Reflects Smallest Gain Since June

Energy stocks saw the greatest decline, with oil down 3% after the Energy Information Administration announced a larger-than-expected rise in domestic crude inventories. Meanwhile, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its Consumer Price Index (CPI) for September, revealing that consumer prices rose less than forecast for the smallest monthly increase since June.
