WWMI & Adviser Cares: Prospect Hill Academy’s THRIVE Program

December 12, 2018

Our Women in Wealth Management Initiative recently partnered with Adviser Cares for Adviser Investments’ latest outreach effort to benefit Prospect Hill Academy’s (PHA) THRIVE program.

PHA Charter School is a college preparatory public charter school serving grades K-12 in Cambridge and Somerville, MA. Ninety-five percent of PHA’s students continue their education at a four-year college. As some of the region’s most diverse and successful scholars, PHA’s students are also some of the most in need of food assistance: 71% of PHA’s student population qualifies for free or reduced school meals. Recognizing the profound impact hunger has on learning, parents launched this grassroots initiative to address the need.

The entire Adviser Investments’ team rallied behind THRIVE’s mission to “feed, grow, sustain our community” with an office-wide food and winter clothing collection effort. Ultimately, our employees donated a total of 1,600-plus servings of macaroni and cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, cereal, raisins, granola bars and much more.

With the help of various partnerships, grants and corporate contributors like Adviser Investments, THRIVE volunteers work every week to collect and prepare two meals a day to sustain students (and their siblings) who do not have regular access to food during weekends and school breaks.

Adviser Investments’ multi-month outreach culminated in the December 6, 2018 backpack-assembly event, at which our Women in Wealth Management Initiative provided full weekend feeding kits and clothing for more than 120 PHA students.
